MEET WITH TRUSON
CHEGWA EZE LUCKY is my birth name. Am known for catchy English/Igbo highlife. I defied all odds and broke all known restrictions when recording my first single “ELEWUKWU”. I was formally in a group called WISEMEN which we were three in numbers, namely; Blackson, 2tall and myself(Truson). We were engaged into ghetto music of which we had an album called “Oh My Lord, See us through”. Actually, the group kind of music wasn’t my style of play, until I dropped out to do my style HIGHLIFE Music. Now am free to release my vocal and lyrical genuinety to the world and to my own Nigerian audience.
By the grace of God, I happened to be the only son in the family of six. That was how the name TRUSON emerged. I was in Owha-Abbi in Delta state but I was brought up in Ama-Okwe in Enugu state where my father resides until when he was late. At a tender age was when I had the passion for music. The desire to sing came to me and didn’t go away. Flavour a.k.a Nabania is my role model. Whenever I listen to his songs I melt within. He has served a big influence to my musical career for his deep highlife style of play. He delivers highlife in terms of emotions.
I was signed into EBENEZEK RECORDS 2013. This was during my performance at Golden Gate in Ikoyi, Lagos. The performance of Elewukwu and Eguoma captured so many audience at the venue. This was were Mr. Friday Ayo developed interest on my musical career.
My musical game commenced fully when i dropped a single "IWORIWO". The track is running on air seriously, most especially the eastern path of Nigeria.
My smoking-hot diva suprised even the meanest of critics with my singles.My achievement started from when the single "IWORIWO" was dropped. I was awarded as the Young Promising Award @ Macy Suite, also honoured with an Award for Excellence in Surulere as the best Highlife artist in the category.
Fame has fetched me favour from God. Highlife as a genre has really grown in Nigeria, It's has been like a tradition from the early days.
